After a system-wide Dark Mode has been available in macOS for almost a year now, Slack is starting to roll out its own dark mode today for its desktop apps including macOS. The update comes after. Slack has released a new update to their desktop app for Mac and Windows which brings about major performance improvements. The app should load up to 33% faster, connect to calls 10 times faster and consume 50% less memory than before.

How to use Slack app?
Launch the app on your device and signup/login with an email id. This app is very easy to use as it guides you about major boards in the app. Slackbot which is a new feature available in the app helps you in setting up your profile. It poses your profile related information in the form of chat one message followed by the other. You need to answer those questions and once you are done with answering your profile will be set with the information that you have provided.
Create your own boards with a # tag before the name. Add or invite people into boards and start conversing with them. You can send images as well as video along with your comments. You will also receive notifications whenever there is a new message or invitation for you.

To find dark mode in Slack on Mac, click on your name in the left sidebar > Preferences > Themes. This will show you a quick preview of how everything will look, and then you can choose to switch to dark mode or stay in light mode.
The company has also added new themes specifically tailored for dark mode, all of which are also available today. There is no required update to see dark mode on Slack, but you'll need to restart the app to get it to appear.
Slack also confirmed that in the near future you will be able to set Slack to switch automatically between light and dark mode, based on your macOS settings. The company didn't provide a specific release date for this feature but said it will be available fairly soon.
